NYU Langone
Translating Organizational Strategy Into User-Centered Digital Experiences
NYU Langone Medical Center presented a unique challenge: transforming how one of New York's most prestigious medical institutions connects with its donor community. Universities depend heavily on sustained alumni and community engagement, requiring digital experiences that balance institutional gravitas with genuine human connection and seamless transaction flows.
Stakeholder-Driven Design Strategy
Leading the complete overhaul of their donations portal involved extensive stakeholder engagement with development teams, university leadership, and the diverse donor community. This required translating complex institutional fundraising goals into intuitive user experiences that could accommodate everything from small recurring gifts to major philanthropic commitments.
Cross-Functional Product Innovation
The project scope encompassed multiple interconnected systems: a crowdfunding platform for specific medical initiatives, event management systems for gala ticket sales, and community engagement features that fostered ongoing relationships. Each component required different user flows while maintaining consistent brand experience and technical integration.
Strategic Impact & Stakeholder Management
Managed presentations to senior university leadership while ensuring design decisions supported both immediate fundraising objectives and long-term donor relationship building. The solution needed to serve diverse user personas—from young alumni making first-time donations to established philanthropists managing complex giving strategies.
